Shared Tools - Gold Award
Tax deductible
My name is Carson and I have been a Girl Scout for 11 years in Eastern SC. I'm raising money to help fund my Gold Award Project, Shared Tools. The Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting where a girl develops meaningful, sustainable solutions to challenges in our world.
For my project: I am working with the women of RePapel Puerto Plata in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. I am helping them to improve the process of finishing the handmade paper products that they make. I have worked with a fabricator to design and develop a tool that will help simplify and ease the smoothing process.
I was inspired when I met the ladies on a school service trip. I started this project two years ago but was delayed when Hurricane Maria hit the Dominican Republic. The ladies of RePapel were impacted and had to delay producing their awesome paper. I am headed back to Puerto Plata in August 2019.
Your support will help with supplies I will deliver to the women. I would like to purchase a new washing machine for them, it is how they break down the paper they recycle. Also, a new blender and a binding machine. I also need help with travel cost, and insurance.
Your support will help to create economic sustainability for the women of RePapel Puerto Plata. The more supplies and resources that I can provide the more helpful my project will be.
You can learn more about the amazing ladies at https://www.repapelpuertoplata.com/index/G0000z0VKShiBOkI
If you would like to follow along with my journey you can follow the project on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Shared-Tools-Gold-Award-Project-105002840844518/
