Sharin needs our help!

Hello everyone! I’m reaching out to you today because I have a dear friend who is in need of our community rallying for her. Let me tell you about my best friend: Sharin Ali. Sharin is a fierce, compassionate, intelligent and extremely kind human being. She has been there for people through thick and thin, especially for me during my immigration battles. She is a writer, poet, mental health advocate, crafter, child educator, and an incredible person. She is the last person who you will see who will ask others for help.
I am here to ask and have community come together. Sharin went to school to become a recreational therapist, once Covid hit she decided to use her circumstances to not stop her and continue her education. She put herself through college to become an Education Assistant. Her dream is to work with children. She thought her dream was complete. However, early last year only a few months into the job, Sharin was assaulted by a student at work and left her with post concussion syndrome, chronic migraines, chronic pain & fatigue
and PTSD. She has been on WCB leave however, they do not provide the adequate help that Sharin needs to rehabilitate. She also battles several chronic health issues. She has used almost all of her savings for out of pocket mental health care, medications, and trauma therapy. She has reached out to all resources possible and she is now stuck in the loop of “we can’t help”. All of this leaves her with very little at the end of the month. She also began to face a second battle that no one should go through, during COVID being around family who are immune compromised, she had to be very careful about work. So like many of us, she took part in CERB. She is a low income individual who can barely get by each month. Now she is left with $12,000 in debt to the CRA because they claim she could not get CERB so she must Re-pay. On top of this, she has medical debt to try and rehabilitate herself in a system that has failed her.
Sharin has been my biggest supporter in many of my trials and tribulations. Now it is time that we help Sharin and help her so that she doesn’t have to decide between paying for therapy or buying groceries.
Any little amount would be greatly appreciated so that Sharin can get her basic needs met and then get back on a path where she can go back to doing a job she loves and pursue her dream of being a writer; one that she has been denied for a long time.
I know this is a hard time for many, so anything will be so greatly appreciated.
Thank you
