Sharleen Argamaso (Dr. A) memorial scholarship

I'm Paul Hernan, Sharleen's husband. Together with my daughters, Maggie and Ella, we have decided to set up this fundraiser to honor Sharleen. Please note: There have already been so many family members and friends who have freely given of themselves during this terrible time. If you're one of those people, the purpose of this fundraiser is not to ask even more from you. But maybe you're someone who is shocked by this news, or maybe you've been waiting for a meaningful way to honor Sharleen...then this is for you. We welcome you to be a part of continuing Sharleen's legacy. The Dr. A memorial scholarship will benefit students in need, in her honor. Flowers fade, food spoils, but a legacy endures.

A little background. As a biology teacher at Lansdowne High School, Sharleen touched the lives of many students and co-workers. She was known as Dr. A (for her maiden name Argamaso), and she was also known for meeting kids on their terms and helping them become the best version of themselves. In her time at LHS, Sharleen personally knew students who died from drug overdose, gang violence, and other tragedies. In such an environment, she and other dedicated teachers were beacons of light. Sharleen always said most kids' biggest need was a consistent adult presence in their lives, and she tried to be a rock for them. This scholarship will allow Sharleen - through memory of her example - to continue to be a rock, by inspiring commitment from current teachers at LHS and directly by supporting a student whom teachers identify as a worthy recipient.

We've set a donation goal of $25K so that there will be enough money for the scholarship to auto-renew yearly. Please consider donating what you're comfortable with, and know that Sharleen would appreciate you helping her to help students who are in need. 100% of the donations made here will go to the LHS scholarship.
