In Memory of Sharney Lee Mitchell

On the morning of Sunday the 18th of August, Sharney Lee Mitchell was unfortunately found deceased. Days prior, Sharney had been admitted to hospital and discharged that same day to rest, diagnosed with influenza A.

Sharney leaves behind her mother, Sherrie; father, Daniel; and 3 sisters, Stacey, Brianna and Aleira. Sharney was an effervescent young girl with her whole life ahead of her. Sharney's family are understandably heartbroken and are struggling to pick up the pieces as they navigate through this sudden and tragic loss.

The family have been inundated with an overwhelming amount of community support, with dozens of messages asking for ways to help. In order to support Sharney's mother, Sherrie, in giving Sharney the funeral service that she deserves, alongside some financial reprieve to allow the family to adequately grieve, I have created this gofundme so that any community members who wish to contribute can do so.

As mentioned before, the community support shown to Sherrie and her family has already been immense. The family will give Sharney the best sendoff regardless; however, with so many wanting to contribute in whatever way they can, I figured this would be the best and most convenient format to do so.

The family would also like to make it clear that until coroner and forensics reports come back, they are in no way placing blame on, or speculating about, Joondalup Health Campus.
