Sharon Canella is an amazing lady that has given so much to our town of Beech Mountain.  She has served on our Beech Mountain Fire Department for many years as an EMT, responding to medical calls and saving lives.  She has served as a volunteer on our mountain and helped out in so many of our community events.  She is someone who understands that we must serve our neighbors and help each other.  That is why we want to help her in her hour of need.  

Sharon is in need of a kidney transplant or alternative medical therapy to save her life.  She had to have a hip replacement last year.  Prior to having the hip replacement, she was in tremendous pain, so her doctor prescribed ibuprofen for pain management.  She was on it for over 4 months and it caused irreversible damage to her kidneys.  She has little to almost no function from either kidney and will have to start dialysis soon, if she does not get a transplant or pursue other medical options to restore the health and function of her kidneys.

2) On June 16th, starting at 6 PM at Famous Fast Eddie's here on Beech Mountain.  We are asking if supporters come out and join us at Famous Fast Eddie's here on Beech Mountain (1005 Beech Mountain Parkway, Beech Mountain, NC 28604) to help raise money for Sharon's medical expenses and support while she is receiving care and recovering.
