Support The Family of Sharron Elizabeth Thomas

Hi, my name is Olisa and I am appealing to you for contributions to cover cost associated with end-of-life for my godmother Sharon.

Sharon Elizabeth Thomas has been a dedicated and loving wife to her husband Barrey Thomas for 55 years. Many of those years she spent caring and providing for their four children while supporting her husband Barrey with Epilepsy. Before falling ill herself, Sharon went to work everyday to financially supplement the family income. An actively involved grandmother, she showered her 13 grandchildren with love and affection. Taking care of others came naturally to her empathetic soul. She absolutely loved baking, often tweaking and perfecting recipe favourites. Sharon has always brought joy to the many people around her and those she would meet. She didn’t have much to give but she willingly gave without question to those in need. Most notably, Sharon freely shared her most valued possession...time.

You may know that Sharon has suffered from a number of health conditions following the untimely deaths of her mother and daughter-in-law in the span of a week. This strong and vibrant woman was now dependent on disability income. In March of 2019 she underwent surgery after suffering an abdominal aortic aneurysm. My godmother has never been the same, her health declining exponentially over the past four years.

As of recent, my dear godmother has had several stays at the hospital due to increased health complications. On Tuesday October 17th it became critically necessary for Sharon to be admitted to hospital. She remains in Palliative care at Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville. We are truly grateful that God has allotted time for family and friends to gather in celebration and prayer while she transitions. The goal now, to keep her comfortable while surrounded by loved ones until the Lord calls her home.

With both of my godparents living on disability incomes, preparing for the inevitable has always been a challenge. For this reason, we humbly ask for your generosity and support with assisting the family in providing Sharon with a dignified departure. All donations will be applied to funeral expenses and other end-of-life costs.
