Sharon L. Chavez

We are heartbroken by the sudden loss of Sharon L. Chavez, the amazing wife of Steven Chavez and fiercely proud mother to Steven Jr., Melissa and Crystal. Last Sunday, Sharon was at home when she had a heart attack and went into cardiac arrest. After spending a week in the ICU, she passed away the following Sunday, October 23rd.

Sharon was a dear friend to many and made everybody she met feel as if they were the most special person in the world. She dedicated 14 years of her life as a teacher at Brenda’s Daycare and also worked for the YMCA. She loved working with children. She loved her coworkers and friends. But above all, she loved her family with a love that was deep and unwavering.

As her husband, Steve, put it, “Sharon was living her dream” as the mother of her three beautiful children. She wanted nothing more than to spend her days loving her family and making sure they were taken care of. In a recent Facebook post to Steven, her son, Sharon wrote, “I am so proud of the man you have become, but the proudest moment for me is telling others you are my son. I love you forever…” Sharon couldn’t help but tell the world how proud she was of her children. She will be missed by so many.

Sharon was always quick to offer help to her family, friends, and anyone in need. **The upcoming memorial service for Sharon L. Chavez will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3200 E. 91st Street, Chicago, IL 60617. Service will begin at 12:00 PM CST. Thanks again for all the support! The family is very grateful.
