Sharon and son Jonathan

It was an unexpected and unwelcomed news some time in early November 2019 when my wife Sharon was diagnosed by the doctor with advanced-stage lung cancer. She has never smoked a single cigarette in her entire life. She had thought it was merely a backache, but X-Ray and CT-Scan revealed multiple tumors in both of her lungs with metastasis in the spinal cord and blood clotting dangerously in her right leg. She just had fluid drained from both of her lungs and from her heart. Presently, I have stopped working in order to stay home to attend to her physical needs and to various chores at home. In between driving our 13-year-old son, Jonathan, to and from school, I am also driving Sharon on multiple trips to the hospitals for her therapy and various lab tests. Biopsy results reported the tumours are ROS1-positive, a rare form of lung cancer. Dr. Desiree Hao, her medical oncologist has recommended the oral drug called Crizotinib, as it has been proven to reduce the size of such tumors. However, Pfizer (the pharmaceutical company that manufactures Crizotinib) has set a hefty price tag for this drug at about CAD$6,000 per month. Since Crizotinib is an oral drug to be taken daily, every month, for life, and given my present financial challenges, this life-saving drug is beyond our reach without your help. We continue to pray and to receive a miraculous healing for Sharon. She means the world to our son, Jonathan.  I am currently on unpaid leave from work, but I look forward to returning to work once Sharon’s condition has been stabilized by the drug, Crizotinib. Meanwhile, financial help of any size will be deeply appreciated and will be used to pay for her treatment and living expenses.
