Sharon Richmond's Cancer Treatment Support

This fundraiser is hosted by friends of Sharon, Janet and Amy.
For those who have had the pleasure of knowing anyone in the Richmond family, you know that they are selfless and intrinsically kind. Opening their hearts is second nature and they act without hesitation. Not only do they support those in need, they thrive on it.
Unfortunately the family has been pummeled by tragedy after tragedy. In less than two years, they suffered the unexpected loss of Amy and Janet’s father, Ralph, and laid to rest their most beloved dog and family member Corby. While still in the depths of grief the family suffered the horrific and shocking loss of Amy during childbirth, leaving behind her beautiful boy, Ethan.
Certainly a family couldn’t suffer more. Then came the diagnosis of Sharon’s Stage IV Cervical Cancer.
After experiencing overwhelming fatigue and dizziness, Sharon went to the ER and was quickly admitted. After two blood transfusions and a CT scan showing a large mass, a procedure was performed to stop the massive bleeding and doctors discovered a tumor that had originated in her cervix. Following a five-day inpatient hospital stay she was released to move forward with radiation oncology treatment at the Marsh Cancer Center.
Sharon’s current treatment plan includes five weeks of daily radiation and weekly chemotherapy. This is just the start of what is ahead and what doctors refer to as a “bigger battle” with chemotherapy.
The medical bills for these services have started to arrive and the need has arisen that they ask for our help. We want Sharon to only focus on healing and getting back to pickle ball and spending giggly afternoons with her grandson. We know a financial burden is a dark cloud that hovers over even the most joyous of times, and with our help we can start to clear those skies.
All funds raised through this crowdfunding will help Sharon pay for treatment and other expenses required to aid in her comfort and care. Thank you for all of the love that has been sent already, and as Sharon and Janet face this diagnosis and treatment head on, your continued love and support will prove to be the most valuable comfort.
