If 2020 couldn't be hard enough our mother can't catch a break.
My name is Georgeia , I created this for my mother. Our mother was originally diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2004. She was severely sick, I was only in 3rd grade at the time and thought I was going to lose my mother that year. My mothers goal was to be able to make it to see me graduate. After multiple extensive surgeries and many days in the hospital, it was a miracle but she beat it. 16 years later she's still fighting but we're going through this nightmare again.
January 17th 2020 our mother was diagnosed with colon cancer for the second time. This time she has been undergoing chemotherapy & radiation at Wilmot Cancer Center which is all new to her and she has had many extremely sick and debilitating months. Ever since she has been diagnosed and started treatment she has not been able to work. She has worked at the Veterans Hospital for the last 18 years. Unfortunately they do not offer leave through disability. She has used up all of the sick time she has accrued which has now ran out since April. Since April she has been living off of her savings. We have wanted to try to set up some sort of fundraiser or auction to try to raise money but were unable to do so because of the current situation with Covid 19. Our family is trying to help her the best we can, but with her being unable to work the bills are piling up and she has no other source of income. Any donations would assist our mother in paying medical bills, co-pays, mortgage, utilities & other living expenses.
No one can prepare you for this and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. We understand many of us are in a predicament due to Covid, any support however seemingly insignificant is helpful and deeply appreciated. It's always hard to ask for help and wasn't something we wanted to do. Your support means more than we can express.
