Sharp Family: Hurricane Harvey Help
Donation protected

My sister-in-law and her family -- Michelle and Jon Sharp and their son Jonathan -- escaped their flooding Houston home on Monday just as the water was coming in the garage. It was Michelle's 50th birthday. They are involved in animal rescue in Texas and evacuated with 7 cats and 4 dogs in their care -- some their own and some fosters. They left in the back of a box truck through the flooded streets to get out. Their home and cars are now underwater. They got reports that the water level has risen more than a foot since these photos were taken. They are losing their cars and their home, and sadly they have no flood insurance. It is going to be a long, hard process to rebuild.
They made it to a friend's home that is currently dry, but is in danger of flooding if the resovoir doesn't hold. Their water supply keeps getting shut off, and the water available is contaminated and needs to be boiled before drinking. It's been difficult with so many people and animals needing it. They are trying to connect today with the Red Cross, but given the flooding it's hard to reach them.
We live in Washington State, and it's been hard to see all this happening from afar. We figured the best way to help from here was by praying and helping rally some funds to help them get back on their feet.
We would so appreciate support for my sister-in-law and her family. Any funds donated will be used directly for housing needs, clothing, and basic needs like food and medical care for them and their animals as they recover from this tragic disaster.
Thank you for anything you are able to give. We are grateful for your generosity!
