Celebration of Life for Shary Xiong

Dear Friends and Family,

My name is Rose Xiong and I am the older sister of Shary Xiong. It is with great sorrow that I must reach out to all of you to share the sad news of my sister’s passing and to ask you for your support.

Shary was only 41 years old when she passed away on Tuesday, October 24th, 2023, due to her new kidney transplant failing and heart complications. At the young age of 27, Shary got very ill and discovered that she had kidney failure. Even though dialysis was rough for her weak body, she persevered to survive for her two young children Megan and Carter. Unfortunately, life is not always fair and on September 18, 2017, Shary’s only daughter Megan Kabao Her passed away unexpectedly. Megan was only 14 years old when she passed. Since the loss of Megan, Shary has never been the same again. Shary missed Megan every day and often talked about wanting to be reunited with Megan again. Shary’s love for her only daughter Megan was immeasurable. She mourned and grieved for Megan every day, even until her last breath.

Shary was a loving daughter who always made sure her parents were fed and had gas money or spending money even though she herself was struggling financially on a fixed income. She was a kind sister that never forgot our birthdays and always made sure to give us a gift to celebrate. She was a fun Aunty who enjoyed the company of her adult nieces and nephews. She was a thoughtful Aunty who made sure every small child received a gift for their birthday. She was a caring Mother who always made sure her children were fed, even when she herself could not get up to cook or eat because of her illness. She was a faithful and dedicated partner who took on big responsibilities even though her health was frail. She was a compassionate friend who loved socializing and hangouts. She was a family woman who loved family gatherings with her family and relatives. Shary’s love for all of us will live on in our hearts and memories.

As we come together to plan for Shary’s celebration of life, we are faced with the difficult task of arranging a beautiful memorial service in her honor. Due to Shary’s lifelong illness and fixed income, she did not have life insurance or any savings. We want to ensure that Shary’s memory will be honored in a way that will befit the wonderful person that she was in this final farewell. Therefore, we humbly ask you for your financial support.

Your generous donation will go directly to cover the cost of the funeral and funeral expenses for Shary. Any money left over will be put in a fund for Carter as he is still under 18 years of age. No contribution is too small, and every donation will help us to honor Shary’s memorial in a way that reflects the love that we all have for her. If you cannot contribute, please don’t feel bad, even a prayer is appreciated as we move on during this difficult time to heal.

Funeral plans are still being arranged and information will be released as soon as it is finalized.
