Support Shatzi with end of life care

The beloved People's Bubbie, Shatzi Weisberger, has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and is entering the last stage of her life. Can you chip in to cover the cost of home health aides as she enters into at-home hospice? She would be deeply appreciative of any contribution you can make, at any amount.

She feels that this is her time and is proud of and grateful for the incredible life she has lived. She has shared that she is having some of the most meaningful experiences of her life right now, as her friends, chosen family, and broad community (including many people she's never even met!) have shown her how loved she is and what an impact she's had.

Shatzi continues to teach us so much, as she always has, about how to live and how to die. As a long-time death educator, she is modeling the remarkable practice of confronting death with curiosity, agency, and generous vulnerability. The love and care she is surrounded by is a testament to the fact that relationships are the most important things we can build in this life.

We know that when we have each other, we have what we need. And Shatzi needs community near and far right now to make the end of her life what she has fought for for all people, and what she deserves. In-home hospice is covering some of her care, but it is a drop in the bucket of what's necessary. Healthcare is a human right and should be free for all of us - but while we're still in that fight, we are reaching out to the many people who have been taught, inspired, emboldened, and strengthened by Shatzi. She deeply appreciates anything you can contribute, and has been moved to hear people of all ages and from all over the world share how much she has meant to them.
