Hello, I’m Shaun Millett

a Proud member of the national training squad for the Australian sliders. The journey to reach this milestone has been a long one but ultimately one that I wouldn’t trade for anything. I relish in the opportunity’s I have been afforded in the sport that I love and the constant chances to better myself. This constant growth has led me to where I am today, along with being named captain for the Melbourne hunters division one and coach for our division 2 squad and Captain for the Hunters at the National Club Championships in 2025. Following my performance in the 2024 Club Championships, I was honored to be named to the Australian Sliders National Training Squad.

The Next Step in My Journey

As I embark on my journey joining the Australian sliders having already completed the first 2 training camps there still remains a major obstacle in my way. Unfortunately, my current wheelchair is designed solely for use in powerchair football and outside of Australia is not allowed to be used for competition. These chairs are quite expensive and certainly far too expensive for me to purchase without the help of generous donors.while the ndis can fund a lot of elements of my sporting endeavors unfortunately after 2 years of trying they were unable to support the purchase of this chair and with the new cutbacks to the ndis the purchase is now rendered impossible.

In attempts to properly thank any donors I am engraving the names of the top ten donors onto a brass plaque that I will install on the chair and upon request I can make a variety of sliders branded merchandise.

I’ve narrowed down my choice to two models:

• The Wolturnus E-Hockey (estimated cost: $36,000 – $40,000), my first choice due to its high-end components.

• The Scout Warrior (estimated cost: $27,000 – $32,000), a slightly more affordable option that may be more achievable given the scope of this GoFundMe and additional sponsorship efforts.

in addition to the GoFundMe, I am also looking for any corporate sponsors willing to sponsor either me personally or the Australian team at large and can offer a sponsorship brochure upon request and can be contacted via email or directly through gofundme I can offer advertising space on the visible portions of the chair and I also have experience with public speaking and running community programs through my work with the twinning program, the big issue and tikkun Olam makers. And am available to assist with any corporate pitches regardless of level of funding.
