Shauna's Cancer Journey - HELP NEEDED

Donation protected
Hello, our Hawaiian Ohana is grouping our efforts to help Shauna obtain treatment and support as she fights her Breast Cancer diagnosis.

Shauna's cancer journey started when she was just 39 years old. She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer with metastasis (spreading) to her bones.

With the support of the community and medical professionals, and her personal fortitude, Shauna fought hard to beat her breast cancer. Over 3 years of treatments, procedures, tests, and doctor's appointments she won. Shauna was in remission.

Tragically, during this new year's holiday 2023, now 42 years old, while Shauna was visiting her family off-island in Michigan, she began feeling tired. She began having terrible headaches, she had no appetite, she had no strength, and she was exhausted.

When Shauna arrived back on Hawaii island on January 10, 2023, her loving husband, Carlos, brought her to the emergency room. She was sent home with a painkiller. Over the next few weeks, Shauna would go for relief at the hospital many times. They gave her more painkillers. The doctors in the emergency room sent her home.

Carlos demanded help for Shauna when he carried her into the emergency room on January 22, 2023. This time the doctors saw Shauna they saw her suffering. They admitted Shauna and performed more tests. She cannot leave the hospital in her current condition.

The cancer is back with a vengeance.

This time, the metastasis is in her spine. From top to bottom, the cancer is eating away at Shauna's bones. The treatments are likely to harm or destroy her remaining bone marrow. (the first bout was incredibly hard on Shauna's bone marrow)

Carlos is not leaving her side. He is not working because he will not let Shauna suffer alone. Carlos refuses to let the hospital dictate her treatments. Carlos is on the job monitoring, supervising, protecting, and loving his lovely wife.

Carlos is too proud to ask for assistance. He is a proud man.

We can all make this journey slightly less horrible if we can support this couple financially. Give them a break so they can use all of their strength to fight.

Any amount will help take the pressure and stress off while the focus is on the fight.

Send any amount you can to help. Forward this GOFUNDME page to anyone you know. Any amount will help them.

Cancer sucks!
