Shaving our hair for Breast Cancer Research!

Tax deductible

Hey! Thank you for taking the time to read this...

My name is Josh, and along side my brother-in-laws (Michael, Andy and Ben) we will be shaving our heads for Breast Cancer Research. And in support of our mother-in-law, Sue!

It may seem like a small task to some, but it’s more about the awareness, and the support!

Sue was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer during lockdown, and has been incredibly brave and positive throughout. But with five daughters and three hairdressers in the family, we know losing her hair has been tough for her. That’s when we decided to show our support and shave our heads!

Josh - “Personally for me - it may seem incredibly vain but I love my hair. I’ve been in the hairdressing industry for 16years now so I know the joy and confidence you can achieve getting your hair done. So to have that taken away unwillingly, seems incredibly unfair! Therefore me shaving my hair will allow me to feel just the tiniest amount of angst that so many have to go through on a daily basis.”

Michael - “Breast cancer effects so many people world wide. Everyone faces their own challenges but one of the hardest must be to lose your hair. I cannot imagine how upsetting that can be, especially for women. It seems like a small thing for me to shave my hair, and in all honesty, it probably is. But if it can prompt just one person to donate even £1 to a great cause then it is worth it. More importantly, bring a smile to Sue's face and show her the support she has around her.”

Ben - “Raising awareness to this cause is extremely important to me. My dad got diagnosed with prostate cancer 10 years ago and that was very upsetting and hard to digest, now knowing a second person very close to my heart has been diagnosed with breast cancer has made me realise how important it is to raise awareness. I feel honoured to be apart of the fundraiser and happy to show my support and love to Sue and all her family and show her that she has plenty of support around her.”

Andy - “I have decided to help raise awareness for breast cancer as my mum in law Sue got diagnosed with it back in April. It’s not really something I have ever thought about really but seeing sue and my family deal with this has been extremely hard. There’s not really been anything any of us can to do help sue apart from trying to be upbeat and make her smile, we have all Watched sue be so brave and really strong and I feel that this is a great way where I can show support raise awareness and hopefully some Money towards a great cause. Anyone who knows me knows I have been rocking the headband and growing my hair so shaving my head goes against everything I’ve been trying to do but it is so worth it to be able to help in anyway possible. Sue has supported us so much with Hudson over the years and I feel this is a way I can show my support to her and help give back to a charity or are helping sue through this challenging time. I have decided not only to shave my hair but through in a Gazza and go blonde please help get behind us!”
