On March 29th, 2024 Shawn Arney passed away suddenly, and unexpectedly leaving his two precious children, Shannon and Chad.
Shannon and Chad were the light of his world, and the sparkle in his eyes. The three of them shared countless adventures in the great outdoors. Shannon and Chad will always cherish their memories together.
Shawn’s love for his dogs was legendary. He was a member of the Ontario Hunting Retriever Club since 1996. And until this day still holds the title of the most Grand Hunter Retriever Champions in Ontario.
Shawn was a proud member of the Durham Regional Police service with over 25 years of service.
His family, love of dogs, and his community involvement made Shawn the caring and passionate person he was.
We are all devastated by Shawn's loss, and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. We want to give him the memorial he deserves to honour his memory, and say our last goodbyes. We also want to ensure the children are able to manage over the next several months as they navigate life without Shawn.
