Shawn Braaten Memorial

Shawn Braaten was one of those people that you meet once in a lifetime.

He was a devoted man of Faith and loving husband. Shawn and his wife, Andrea Braaten, have been married for 33 years and together for almost 36 years. Their love story was the kind that you read about in the mushy romance novels and you see in the cheesy rom coms. The love they shared is what every couple should strive for.

Shawn and Andrea raised three hardworking, Jesus loving, kind sons. They instilled the best of both of them when raising their boys and it shows now that all three have grown into successful men. Their eldest son and his wife of 4 years are expecting their first child in March.

In addition to always being there, and loving his family, he was one of the hardest workers we have ever known. He selflessly gave over 30 years of service to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Shawn always had a big heart even though he was a man of few words. He showed how much he cared and loved the people around him by giving his time and effort away and expected nothing in return.

Unfortunately, on top of getting Covid, he also contracted Covid Pneumonia, a pneumomediastinum, and a cytokine storm. Any one of these on their own wreak havoc on the lungs but having all three together had taken their toll on Shawn Braaten’s body.

He fought hard to stay on this earth with his family, but ultimately God called him home on December 16, 2021, with his wife and three boys by his side.

Shawn spent almost a month in the hospital/ICU. We are asking for donations to help his family cover these unforeseen medical expenses.

Please Pray for our family to feel God’s peace and to give us strength to get through this time of loss and change.

Shawn Braaten was a beacon of light to everyone around him, he will always be loved and will be missed every day.
