Shawn DeRouen

Hi Everyone, my name is Holly De Angelis. I am the last of my parent's four kids. My parents Markam and Shawn DeRouen raised a beautiful family of 4 for the last 46 years. Starting from oldest to youngest, Brandy Gaudet, Markam DeRouen, Misty DeRouen and Holly De Angelis. In September 2022 our lives changed. Our mother Shawn DeRouen was suffering from a terrible migraine that was lasting longer than it should have. She then went to the doctor and they recommended an MRI. In the MRI, two brain tumors were found on the right frontal and right back of the brain. She was then sent to Ochsner in New Orleans to have a craniotomy done. During this procedure, they were able to remove just about all of the tumors. Since September 12, 2022, our mother has been on a journey to recovery. The tumors were then sent off for examination. It was then October 4th when we were told the worse news possible. Our mom was diagnosed with glioblastoma, grade IV brain cancer. Since then our mother has been going through several treatments ad will continue to do so for the rest of her life. We are now asking as a family, for any donation to help our parents get through the bills piling up. Our parents were not prepared for this at all. They were just at the peak of enjoying retirement together, but that has changed as our father will continue to work to support our mother.
