Shawn Gillett’s Heart ❤️

Hi, my name is Brittni Gillett. A month ago my husband, Shawn had a widow maker heart attack, that he miraculously survived. He coded, and was rushed by ambulance to Gundersen hospital and had a stent placed in the artery that supplies his heart with blood. Unfortunately at the time he was a week away from being hired on by his company for full benefits, including health insurance, PTO and short term disability. That plan was suddenly derailed that morning. The doctors are not sure if Shawn will be able to return to work for another 3-6 months as he has a very long road to recovery. His heart is only pumping at half the percent a “normal” 37 year old’s would be. We are facing many medical bills, and normal day to day bills that are currently sitting at $35,000 and climbing rapidly. Even with scrambling to get him insurance, just one of his meds that prevent sudden cardiac death costs $400 a month, the defibrillator vest he has to wear for the entire rehab process also costs $450 a month. I am currently working two jobs and volunteer with our local ambulance as an EMT. We all know life is expensive. I don’t typically ask anyone for help.
