Shawn Kargus memorial fund

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Dawn. I am devastated and heartbroken as I am writing to you to today to establish a memorial fund on behalf of my brother Shawn Kargus. Shawn leaves behind his grieving widow Bailey and two beautiful young children, Chase and Grace, to raise upon her own.

On the morning of November 20th 2023, Shawn was flown to Froedert in Milwaukee to undergo emergency surgery for an undiagnosed aortic dissection. Further complications led to a lengthy hospitalization in the CVICU. He was called home to be with Jesus on November 30th, the same day his wife Bailey was to celebrate her 40th birthday.

Shawn, alongside Bailey, gave his heart and soul into acquiring and operating Crystal Falls, a small family run business, the year before COVID hit. Together they fought to keep their labor of love running through the highly inflated price increases that followed. Sacrifices, such as life insurance, had to be made to keep their business afloat. Shawn was only 48 years old at the time of his passing which leaves his grieving family with the tremendous burden of these unexpected expenses.

Shawn made a lasting impression upon nearly every single person who crossed his path. His loss is felt by many. Shawn was a thoughtful husband, doting daddy, playful grandpa, loving son, caring brother, understanding uncle, and attentive friend to anyone and everyone who’s lives he touched. He was known to be there to listen, give advice, or carry on a conversation about fishing, cooking, horticulture and just about anything in-between.

So many were fortunate enough to have been impacted by Shawn within their lives. So, if he worked with you at the movie theater, if he cooked you a meal at Crystal Falls or made you a fabulous drink; if he shared a secret fishing spot or gave you advice on the best place to hunt; if you experienced one of his epic haunted houses in Menasha that he lovingly built alongside with his kids; if you were a beneficiary of Shawn’s generosity through one the fundraisers he help sponsor; or even if he gave just gave you a piece of his precious and limited time, we ask that you please consider donating to his memorial fund in order to help support his wife and children so that they may feel some slight relief from the devastating burden of their tragic loss.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
