On the night of October 20th 2022, loving son and brother; Shawn Mai and his girlfriend Taryn Bowman were involved in a fatal car accident. The two door Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling northbound down Broadway when the driver lost control and the vehicle hit a traffic pole and light box. The car got severed in half horizontally and the back end of the car was shot 100 feet up the road. When paramedics arrived they tried to save Shawn but he had already passed and was pronounced dead on the scene, as well as the driver of the vehicle. Taryn was rushed to the ICU; where she is currently still fighting for her life.

Shawn’s family moved to Texas only five months ago; with this tragic loss it has caused them to incur huge expenses they could have never imagined. Shawn’s father and step mother aren’t able to work at this time putting their family of 11 in a bit of a tough financial spot, while traveling and making arrangements to lay Shawn to rest.

The Mai family will be receiving these donations to help cover funeral expenses as well as Shawn’s day to day expenses and anything else they need help with at this time. Every donation counts and is greatly appreciated. Please keep the Mai family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this time of mourning.

I can’t even seem to put into words what this amazing family is going through right now and the hurt they have in their hearts at this time. Your support is needed more than ever. We will be holding a celebration of life for Shawn soon and I will be posting updates on that as soon as we have them available.
