Shawn Patrick Raymond Kinney

Hello. My name is David Kinney. I am the oldest of 5 kids. My brother Shawn being the youngest.

On February 22, 2024 Shawn managed to navigate his semi truck and trailer of Donner pass on I-80 after calling me to say he doesn't feel good. I told him to get to a doctor and get checked out. He managed to get turned around as he was headed to California to deliver a load. He made it to the Renown Regional Medical center. As he was checked in, we found out that he was in septic shock!

The doctors and staff jumped right in to do what they do to keep my brother alive. Without getting into the direct details he ended up on life support while the doctors figured out the what, where and how to fix my brother or even where to start.

It has been a rollercoaster ride for the whole family as he is the baby in our clan. After 7 days of life support, on February 29th. He was able to have the ventilator removed and have conversations with us and the doctors. It seemed as though he was on the mend.

As I am typing this I got a call from one of the brothers who is still at the hospital and things took a turn. He is back on life support!

I am creating this to help my little brother. This chapter in his life will most definitely be more costly than our family can manage. He works for https://newlegendinc.com/ He was on his way by the terminal to sign up for his health benefits now that his probation period was up. Unfortunately, he was unable to do that. So now the burden of the cost falls on him and his family.

So I am putting this out into the world. If you have the ability to Help a good Father and a phenomenal brother. The please help him if you can. Our family is doing all it can, However, The cost to save this man will be great. My many thanks to the doctors and the staff at Renown for all their hard work. They have been amazing.
