Peace community,

Saturday, September 2, 2023 my dearest Uncle Shawn (Shawn Torrence) passed away unexpectedly. As a family, we were not prepared to not only lose him, but to take on the responsibilities that’s been left behind.

My Uncle has always been a provider for our family as a whole—ensuring we had everything we needed to feel comfortable and supported. His absence leaves us in a bubble of sorrow and uncertainty, as we try to pick up where he left off, especially with his kids.

On top of the funeral costs, your donation will provide financial support and security to his 3 beautiful children Kamarion (17), Antonio (16), Anastasya (6). Uncle Shawn was their main financial provider and emotional support system—our goal is to make sure that they continue to feel comfortable, supported, and safe, as they learn how to navigate life without their father.

$20,000 is not nearly enough to support 3 kids plus the funeral costs, however, it’s a good start to help us get ahead.

We thank you for all of the love and kind words that we’ve received thus far—it’s been a crutch for us as we learn how to navigate our new reality.

Here’s a little background on who Uncle Shawn was:
Shawn was an adored brother, uncle, father, and friend. He had the ability of creating genuine connections with people of a variety of backgrounds. With an infectious laugh and a giving spirit, Shawn brought joy, love, and support to those closest to him.

For his career, he became a successful entrepreneur by pursuing a business venture called Perfection Painting—traveling in and out of state to paint homes and businesses of all sorts! Being hands on was something Shawn loved to do, and had become somewhat of an expert in his craft.

His hobbies also included fixing cars and making music with his friends. His love and talent in both of these area’s was evident—always keeping his family and friends on their toes with new cars to fix and clever rap bars.

It seemed, based off of his actions, that Shawn’s main objective in life was to support his kids and the people he loved. His dedication as a father and friend went above and beyond, always keeping his children and family safe.

His absence leaves a ripple of sorrow in the lives he’s touched, and he’ll always be remembered for his smile, helping hand, loving spirit, and kindness in this world.
