Shawn Williams Memorial Mutual Aid Fund

Donation protected
This intelligent, handsome, and dynamic young man was murdered in Brooklyn recently. He was a victim of gun violence. The NY Daily News and New York Post referred to him as “gang member," but his name is Shawn. Shawn Williams.

He was a father, brother and friend to many. I had the privilege of meeting Shawn through one of my non-profit clients and I was immediately drawn to his talent, passion and charisma. He would say to me, "Mr. Glenn, I want to change. I want to be a good father. Please, Mr. Glenn." I can still hear his determined voice in my mind.

I want to keep his memory alive by supporting a Mutual Aid Fund for his peers. This will be a youth-led fund, to provide security for young people who've been involved in the criminal justice system.

Mutual Aid is not charity, it is community supporting each other.

Mutual Aid is sustainable and requires group participation to keep alive.

Mutual Aid is grounded in trust.

Please help me raise seed funding for the Shawn Williams Mutual Aid Fund, to keep Shawn's spirit alive.

The  Mutual Aid Fund will be housed at Drive Change NYC and the funds will be disbursed to Kim DiPalo, Director of Operations.

I will ultimately be withdrawing the funds and delivering them, minus fees.

I will do so after we pass the initial $10,000.
