Shawns Vape Awareness Accident & Neck Surgery

Shawn left work on Friday 8/9 and went to meet me and our daughter at her dance class. 

On the way home from work  to meeting us he used a vape pen he recently purchased at a vape store. The CBD Oil that was supposed to be THC Free CBD Oil ended up being defective instead and not what he normally buys even though the packaging and cartridge looked the same as before.

He wanted to use the Vape pen to help with his work anxiety and help him relax if needed after work since he didnt have the natural oils and creams we normally use at home from whole foods and other natural stores . We left from their to head to dinner after dance and Layla was with him in the car  then got there and sat down at restaurant. 

Our daughter needed to use the bathroom. As Shawn was walking to bathroom he started feeling funny and couldn't walk right. Once he got in bathroom and helped daughter go potty he knew something wasnt right and he took his phone and dialed 911. Then phone dropped and Daughter started talking on phone and was told by hospital staff it was 911 operator . He slumped against the wall as Layla stood there crying. He went into a seizure. That’s how the paramedics who arrived found him. He has been in Wellington Regional MICU unit since Friday evening. He has continued to have seizures daily, some days multiple ones.

It is believed the vape cartridge caused Shawn to have seizures and to cause the above.

Our medical insurance was switched and not active when this happened. We had just changed plans and  was not effective until 9/1/19.

Shawn is very weak and ate for the fist time today..

After having the seizures, he will not be allowed to drive for at least 6 months......and he will be unable to return to work for an undetermined period and is the primary source of income for our family.

Shawn needs constant supervision as he has seizures and has been passing out with no warning.

I work from home, but will have to care for Shawn constantly when he is released from the hospital.


Please help us and our family through a scary, stressful & extremely difficult time.
