Shawnda’s Fight
If there ever was a time for me to start a Go Fund Me page, it would be now. This now is for my sister Shawnda Whitlock. She’s been sick for the past several months. It all started with a switch of careers of her husband Dennis Whitlock. They got new health insurance, which means new primary doctor and well…you get the point. She was told she had a severely, weak, enlarged heart, and needed a biventricular defibrillator to save her if she went into cardiac arrest. Her symptoms of chest pain, nausea, dizziness, severe fatigue, and low blood pressure continue to worsen. Because of this, she has not been able to work the last several months. Then two months ago she was in the hospital with a life threatening drop in hemoglobin from internal bleeding in her stomach.
She tacked on three new doctors, and so many more tests which leads to this past Friday. Her bloodwork showed once again, a severe drop and hemoglobin. She went back to the ER for blood transfusion and another endoscopy. From there it just spiraled into acute liver failure. She was put on a ventilator and is in ICU fighting for her life. Her lungs and kidneys shut down and she became no longer responsive. Dennis was asked to sign a DNR in case her heart started shutting down, leading to cardiac arrest. She was put on kidney dialysis machine as a last effort to save her.
She has given us subtle glimpses of Hope over the last 36 hours and continues to fight. She is strong and will continue to fight this battle and as we patiently wait and trust God, we can fight for her on the outside. We are asking you to join us in this outside battle to help Shawnda and Dennis with the overwhelming financial hardship over the past six months. No amount of money is too small.
