Shayla's recovery
Donation protected
On the evening of Friday, December 13th, 2024, our dear Shayla was tragically struck by a vehicle while walking her dogs through a crosswalk in Kelowna, BC. While she has sustained a serious traumatic brain injury, Shayla continues to show incredible strength and determination as she fights her way toward recovery. Her dogs, who were with her at the time of the accident, are safe, unharmed, and are eagerly awaiting to reunite with their mom.
Shayla’s family and most of her friends live in Ontario making it difficult to be with her in person during this critical time. As her road to recovery will be long and filled with challenges, we’re asking for your support. The funds raised will assist her family with travel-related expenses, Shayla’s medical essentials, and anything else she may need as she heals.
In the few days following the accident, Shayla’s family and friends have received an incredible outpouring of support. With offers to assist, we decided to create this page for those who wish to help during a time when we can often feel helpless. If you are unable to donate, we simply ask for your prayers, well wishes, and healing energy for Shayla, her family, friends, and all her loved ones. Your support—whether through a donation or sending positive thoughts—means more than words can express.
Thank you for being a part of Shayla’s journey. Together, we can help her stay strong as she fights to recover and return to the life she loves.
