Shayne & Jess as they care for Lilly who’s in the burn unit

Hi, I’m Phil Joel.

On Wednesday night (June 26th), my 19 m/o niece, Lilly, was airlifted to the burn Center in Edmonton after she accidentally spilled a pot of boiling water on herself. She has burns on about 50% of her body. She is currently resting with the help of pain medication and receiving amazing treatment, but her recovery will be long, and she may require surgery on some parts of her body.

I’m fundraising to support Shayne and Jess as they care for Lilly. They are off work and facing unexpected expenses while staying in Edmonton until she is able be transferred back to Moosejaw.

UPDATE: Lilly will need to have surgery on some parts of her body, hopefully they can get her in this coming week. After the surgery it will be at least two weeks in hospital before they will know when she can transition closer to home. Once we know more about how long Lilly will be in the hospital, we will take any donations that are not needed for expenses and put them in an account for her physical rehabilitation or put them in an education fund for her. Thank you everyone for your generosity! It is absolutely amazing the love and support everyone has shown Lilly and her family!

Second week update:

Lilly had her surgery on Friday, she is on the mend but restless and exhausted being in her hospital bed all day. We will know if the skin grafts took on Wednesday when they change her bandages. Your prayers and support in every way are much appreciated! Thank you everyone!
