Crystal is a police officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a military war veteran that served in Afghanistan during one of the deadliest years of the conflict, and a 30-year- old, single parent mother of a beautiful, 6-year-old daughter named Evelyn.

Tragically, Crystal is also diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, which was contracted as a direct result of exposure to biohazards and radiation during the war.

Despite an aggressive treatment plan, Crystal’s last prognosis indicated a slim chance of survival with only months left to take on this extraordinary battle against cancer. Today, Crystal is still fighting for her life, but the odds are certainly stacked against her. And this harsh reality is difficult to imagine, especially when you consider the promise and potential that Crystal continues to offer, and the fact that she could potentially leave behind her 6 year old daughter.

Not only has Crystal served our community as an exceptional and compassionate police officer but she was also instrumental in advancing the high-tech crime fighting mission in Las Vegas. Additionally, despite unimaginable conditions during her treatment, Crystal repeatedly found ways to help her unit protect the iconic Las Vegas Strip.

Crystal Sanchez simply represents the best of humanity. She has been selfless in her service to our nation as a soldier, she has been dedicated to keeping our community safe as a police officer, and she has always maintained a positive attitude despite her personal adversity and the surrounding challenges that have compounded her battle against cancer during a global pandemic.

As you can imagine right now all of this weighs heavily upon Crystal. Her main concern and wish is that Evelyn will have a college fund. Thus, any donations not used for medical care and services will be placed in a trust that has been established for the benefit and funding of Evelyn's future education. Our goal is allow Crystal to spend time and focus on her daughter.


In an effort to maintain complete transparency it is important to share the following details; Prior to Crystal's passing, she worked with her attorney's to establish a trust that is 100% intended to benefit her daughter Evelyn. Crystal assigned her good friend Edwin Serrano to be the trustee as her daughter is so young. This trust was designed for the purpose of managing funds to help Evelyn pay for college when that day arrives. As previously mentioned, all donations to this campaign will be directly deposited to said trust and wholly used for Evelyn's education and well being.
