Hi, my name is Liz and I’m fundraising for a lady named Julie. Julie has been working at Rod’s Grill in Arcadia for over 30 years and is about to lose her job.
Rod’s Grill closed last week (the last day of operation was Feb 12th.) Unfortunately Julie and the staff just received a one week notice and you can imagine how devastated the staff and loyal customers are. Julie wanted to express to you all her deep sadness and how devastating this is for many hard working folks. I know that the regular customers appreciate these hard working people too.
Julie lives in a small apartment above a garage and all was finally good with her living situation due to the pandemic, but then this has unexpectedly happened. Julie also has a learning disability involving difficulties with reading and writing. But she does have her own format of freehand that helps her get by.
It’s really sad that both her and the staff received such short notice of their neighborhood restaurant, especially after nearly 70 years of business. Rod's Grill will not be staying as the same establishment either. They are going to remodel it under a new name and will not be keeping the same staff.
Julie wants you to know she lives in Monrovia, has no mate, no kids and no family. Her customers were her family and she is really in shock right now. Julie is not on Facebook or Instagram either, so I wanted to share this information to help a single woman who is in dire need. Thank you kindly and as Julie always says, “I walk two steps forward, so if I get pushed back, I’m one step ahead.” Keep moving forward Julie!
