Shea's Fighting Breast Cancer Fund
Donation protected
In August 2016, my sister Shea Cox was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was so unexpected and absolutely devastating. The cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, which meant the treatment was going to be extensive and financially draining. Shea's treatment included 5 months of Chemotherapy, followed by a double mastectomy and she is now undergoing 6 weeks of daily radiation treatments. She then will prepare for reconstructive surgery in the Fall of 2017.
This in and of itself has been the biggest fight for her life, and she has had to wage this battle with weekly trips from Pinetop to Phoenix Arizona. In order to receive the radiation treatments she needed, she had to leave her teaching job and move to Phoenix for 6 weeks.
As you can imagine, this has been a financial strain on Shea and her family, and every little bit will help!
Shea is such an inspiration to not only me, but the hundreds of lives she has touched as a teacher in Blue Ridge. She has been such a positive influence to the White mountain community as well. She has been so grateful for the outpouring of prayers and support everyone has given her, and I know how much the continued support would mean to Shea and her family.
