Sheffield Cycling 4 All
Sheffield Cycling 4 All is a project run by Disability Sheffield: Centre for Independent Living, a small local charity (registered charity Number 1112712).
Disability Sheffield works alongside Disabled people to promote inclusion, choice and control and encourage independent living, giving a collective voice to one of Sheffield’s lesser-heard communities and challenging negative perceptions of disability.
Sheffield Cycling 4 All has been in existence for over ten years, running inclusive cycling sessions in Hillsborough park, and has over 1000 members. We have over 30 different bikes and trikes, and ways of adapting them, so that whatever difficulties you face, we can support you to cycle.
During COVID, the people most affected by the pandemic are disabled people and those with long-term health conditions. We have been supporting our cyclists by offering a range of physical and social activities - all of which are free of charge. We have Zoom exercise classes, COVID-safe cycling in the park, and a Trike Loan scheme so people can enjoy the benefits of cycling outside of our Hillsborough park sessions.
We offer people with disabilities or long term health conditions the opportunity of regular exercise with all the physical and mental health benefits that come with it. Equally important though is the sense of community and belonging that our project provides to many people.
We want to continue to make a positive impact on people's lives long into the future and hope that you will help us to do so by contributing to this fundraiser.
