Shelia Richard Gallien

Hi, my name is Miron C Gerard and I am fundraising in support of my beautiful wife, Shelia, in an effort to help offset the mounting medical costs of living with a malignant cancer diagnosis. Shelia is preparing to have surgery soon, with subsequent chemotherapy treatments that will follow. Medical bills,travel expenses, and temporary housing for me to be near my wife during this ordeal has become quite heavy.

For those that may not know much about my wife, let me share some background about the woman I fell in love with. Shelia is a wife, mother of two, and grandmother of four. She grew up singing and was an original member of the Houston girl group called Sweetness. Her group opened for such artists as The Gap Band, BB King, The Dazz Band, ZZ Hill, and Bobby Womack to name a few.

Shelia attended college in the Houston area and later became a recreational therapist with a creative flair for compassionate care of the elderly. She became a local celebrity in Missouri City when her “Angel Program” mentored special needs kids for Alzheimer’s patient outreach. The story was so popular that it was picked up by The Oprah Winfrey Show via satellite. Shelia was so moved by these caring kids that she created an ‘Angel Tree’ Christmas tree which had angels with each of the children’s names on each angel hanging there on the tree.
