Shelley’s long term illness & medical increases

Donation protected
My name is Roberta Hartley. Most of you who have known me for any amount of time also know my sister, Shelley Plummer. What you may not know is that Shelley has suffered with autoimmune issues ever since childhood. As time has gone by these issues and their requisite medications and treatment have become more and more expensive, in addition to medications being unable to be located and their insurance fighting and denying charges. As of now she and her husband Ross have exhausted their retirements funds and have watched things go from bad to catastrophic. The picture on this post is from the good times. As of now most of you would not recognize Shelley, swollen from steroids, face damaged due to Celiac, multiple organ failures (5 years of adrenal failure and the new-heart, lungs, liver, kidneys) unable to breathe and thereby on oxygen, with damaged bones, arthritis and many other issues. She and Ross need help to try and make it through this final chapter in this never-ending story. This week alone her medical equipment (lift chair, walker) broke and have to be replaced. The need for a motorized chair and hydraulic lift are immense. Currently she is trying to stay strong at home, but the family knows that they will lose the home after she is gone, if not before. And there are always end of life expenses. We don't know how long before those costs will arise. As most of you know, Shelley LIVES for baseball, and she is just hoping to be here in order to see some Spring Training, watching her Dodgers in March and April. If you are able, please help.

Written by our niece, Rosalynn:
My uncle is a law enforcement veteran who spent well over 30 years serving our community, eventually earning the position of deputy chief before his retirement.

Not only did he serve our community by keeping bad guys off the streets, but he also served our community for many years as a volunteer in the TV ministry at our church, helping the gospel be shared to people far and wide.

My aunt served our community for many years as a dispatcher for our local police department, until her health declined so drastically she was forced to permanently leave the workforce

She too was a helpful member of our local church, often helping in the TV ministry, but as her health complications continued to progress she was unable to attend regularly and had to step away from yet another thing she treasured.

Throughout the years, both Shelley Plummer and Ross’ health conditions have continued to make life difficult for them-in both ability to participate in everyday life, and has been financially overwhelming for them. The retirement nest egg they built through Ross’ decades of service on our police department has been completely depleted just by trying to survive.

Shelley’s health is the worst of the two at this time, with one of her conditions being life threatening. The daily medication she needs to stay alive is scarce, and incredibly expensive. There has been a shortage of the medication she needs to literally stay alive, and the ironic thing is that stress and sickness complicates her condition requiring an updose of medication. (Google Addison’s Disease for more information.)

I could go into so much more detail about the hardships they have faced for YEARS, to end up in this place that they are financially, but in the end, this isn’t my story to tell. I just share what I have with you, to ask you, PLEASE help my aunt and uncle if you can. I’m not being dramatic when I say, their lives, and livelihood depend on the help they receive-and they are so deserving of an outpouring of love and financial support.

Please continue to pray, share, and give if you can.
