Dear Shelley: Love is Talking

If you are reading this, you have been following Shelley Simonton's journey battling melanoma for nearly 18 months, sending support and deep friendship. You've asked "How can I help?" This is how.
Shelley and Matt have some things they'd like to do with this time they have left. They are ready to take a trip to see the whales migrating from birthing waters in Mexico on their way north, for one.
Our goal is to raise this money before the whales reach Alaska, and some are very fast.
Shelley is a human sparkler, dog whisperer (maybe more of a loud whisper), expert skier, fisher, horse-packer... beloved wife, daughter, sister, cousin and friend. Since you are reading this because you know Shelley, you've been treated to the best in belly laughs.
The last year and a half have been full of doctors' visits, surgeries and chemotherapy to fight the melanoma diagnosis that came in January 2016. Shelley and her family have been buoyed by the love you've extended with cards, prayers, and food. Their hearts open a bit wider, again, as the accept this human prayer chain to collect funds for the trip, the relentless medical bills, a memorial fund and some comforting therapies for Shelley.
It seems that anyone who's ever met Shelley can agree on the fact that she's elevated, humored, extended them kindness or given them something memorable. So, the answer is finally...yes. You can help. Thank you. This is love in action.
Thank you for taking a moment to reflect on this human sparkler and how she found her way into our lives and hearts to stay.
