Shelly Havens final expenses

On Nov. 16th, after thinking she had uncontrollable heartburn for a week, Shelly went to the Dr. and was immediately admitted to St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson, Nevada (LasVegas). She was diagnosed with a massive heart attack and she then had an emergency TRIPLE bypass. She went home 9 days later to recover. After only 3 days she returned to the hospital and was re-admitted Nov. 28th when it was determined she had pneumonia and a blood clot in near her heart. They have been draining fluid daily and her heart is only working at 35-40% capacity. On Dec. 4th, after consulting with 4 heart specialists/surgeons they determined that she needs a HEART TRANSPLANT.

She was flown to the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa on Dec. 8th and since then, they have removed the pump from her heart for now and she is holding steady on her own.....The big concern right now is for the lungs. They did biopsies and cultures of the fluid inside that is hindering her breathing.....we are waiting for the results.... .She is still having a hard time breathing on her own..... Her blood pressure is still low and she is being treated with medication for that....They slowly reduced her sedation and she has been alert .....

She will respond to our questions and correct us if we are wrong....true Shelly form....

They removed the ventilator and placed a trachea....Which seems to be working for her.... It's better than having the tubes down her throat....She still can't talk.... mostly using her hands to communicate....

Doctors started her on Physical therapy Dec. 19th and it went well. ....

These funds will be used to help pay for expenses incurred during and after her hospitalization and recovery.....
