Shelly was recently diagnosed with colon cancer after a colonoscopy. She has already had major surgery for removal of a large mass and had a port put in because yep, you know it, she has to have chemo now. Let me tell you a little about Shelly. Beware, I'm long winded.
Shelly is a home health physical therapy assistant. There's a pretty good chance someone you know has had her for a home therapist; and TRUST me, she is one of the best. Her caring personality and stellar sense of humor keeps her patients in good spirits and she's proven time and time again that she'll go that extra mile to help them! If you don't know what a home therapist is, Shelly travels all over to several counties to those who can not leave their homes to get therapy services. The difference she has made in many lives can not be measured.
Shelly never hesitates to help those around her. In any way. She's got the biggest heart. She's also fiercely independent and does not ask for help even if she needs it.
Count yourself lucky if you've never had to pay for medical expenses like this because it's insane. Especially when you're unable to work because of the health issues!! Shelly has been off work for over a month already and just started chemo treatments which has already proven to be full of new complications that will keep her from working even longer! Two surgeries, chemo infusions and pills, not to mention all of the appointments and travel expenses. It's impossible! And then there's all of the side effects to manage!!
Did you know that chemo can cause you to experience a paralysis in your hands and feet? That it can make your muscles contract and seize up? Or make it feel like everything you touch is as cold as dry ice? That being in the sun can cause skin rashes/pain?? That tears on your cheeks can feel like razor blades?? Did you know you can have the dry heaves all day every day? That less than a week on chemo and your hair will start falling out?
Difficult to imagine these things, let alone experience them. And seeing someone you love go through this is heartbreaking. If you know, you know.
Shelly is a mother to 2 young men; Chase and Cayden. Chase followed in his mom's footsteps and is a physical therapy assistant and Cayden is starting nursing school next week. Shelly has always been their #1 fan and they'll tell you just how amazing she is!
Shelly is also an avid DIYer and crafter, often supplementing her income this way and is unable to do any of this because of the chemo side effects.
I know without a doubt that Shelly is one of the best humans on this earth. And a lot of other people feel the same. Let's all show her our love and if you can, help her financially. It would be so appreciated! - Shelly's friend April.

"As soon as you meet her it's like catching up with an old friend, you instantly love her. She is always there to help someone in need, the best friend, amazing Mother, a smile that lights up the room!" - Shelly's friend Lisa.

"Shelly is one of the sweetest & caring people I know. She would do anything for anyone & not think twice about it. She's like a daughter to me & there's nothing I wouldn't do for her. I could go on forever about her." - Shelly's friend Sis.

"Shelly is one of the most caring, sweet & stubborn people I know. Would do anything for anyone at anytime. Very strong willed & very independent & won't ever ask for help. She's part of our family & would do absolutely anything for her. You'll never find a better person." - Shelly's friend Ruby.

"What can I say about Shelly that no one doesn't already know.. This girl is a best friend to everyone she meets, she's kind, caring and would do anything for anyone. Shelly has a heart of gold, she's crazy funny and can craft like nobody's business! She is a creative soul that everyone loves. We love her BIG!" - Shelly's friend Tami.
