On February 1st Shelly found a spot on her left breast and thought it was just a pinch or bite from something. So she set up a Dermatologist appointment to get it checked out. The dermatologist took one look and then the whirlwind started. She was told she would need a biopsy and that she has breast cancer. The one word she was not ready to hear. Within a week she was sent to the Levine Cancer Center in Charlette, NC where she went under more biopsies, and had a mammogram that showed an 11x11 cm mass in her left breast. And then the damaging diagnosis came that she has Metastatic Breast Cancer Stage 4. Shelly is going to require more testing, more biopsies, and scans. She will be getting her port put in on March 15 and will be undergoing aggressive chemotherapy. This chemo is going to be strong and make her very sick. If the chemotherapy doesn't work then she has to have a mastectomy.
Shelly is a fighter, she is a mother, she is a wife, she is a grandma to 4 beautiful grandbabies and one on the way who are the world to her. Shelly is a person who would never ask for help but would be the first to give the shirt off her back to those is need. She is the heart and soul of her little family and we want her to beat this cancer and continue on living the life that god has given her.
Shelly is fighting a disease that nobody wants to go through and to be directly sent to Stage 4 is devastating in itself. Shelly is too prideful to ask for help, but she really needs all the help she can get. She is having to pay upfront for scans and test and right now that is just not feasible. So I'm reaching out to you our family and friends and asking for your help in helping Shelly get through all of this and not have to worry about paying upfront for her scans and test.
Shelly is still working at her favorite car dealership and her co-workers have been by her side, but she can only sell so many cars while trying to battle this disease. THANK YOU all for any help that you can give. IT is greatly appreciated.
