Hello everyone,
with recent events with our mom, Shelly and her decreasing health, we decided to set up a go fund me to help with medical expenses and expenses afterwards.
As many of you are aware, our mom passed away November 19th. We are truly saddened by this and wish we would have had more time with her. We do take comfort in knowing she’s at peace.
We are truly thankful for everyone that has donated to our go fund me. As we continue with this, the funds will go to help with our mom’s after life celebration.
If you do donate, all donations are accepted and are truly appreciated. If you aren’t able to donate, we ask that you keep our family in your thoughts & prayers while we navigate this difficult time.
Thank you everyone.
Story below of the days leading up to our moms passing.
It is with a heavy heart that we write this. In the recent days Shelly was admitted to the hospital in Watertown. After several tests it was found that she had tumors on her brain, a mass in her right breast and armpit and a spot on her liver. Also showed a blockage where the kidney meets the bladder
She was transferred to Avera in Sioux Falls late Wednesday night. After further testing and scans it was determined that the tumors on her brain are cancerous and coating the surfaces of her brain. She also had surgery to put a stent in to help clear the blockage from her kidney to her bladder.
After a call with Dr Grow, Radiation Oncologist it was determined that she is not strong enough to endure radiation and chemo. This was also recommended by Dr. Jones, breast cancer doctor. So at this point it has been decided to do comfort care and move her into hospice.
All close family and friends have been notified and if we missed you we are so sorry because no one should have to find out via social media that their loved one is dying.
She is currently still at Avera and she can have visitors, you just have to wear a mask. She is very hard of hearing and cannot hear out of her right ear. The left is the good one but you have to talk louder. She may be sleeping when you arrive but she wants to be woken up. She may be confused but she is mostly coherent.
Any questions please ask her children or her sisters and brother.
Please keep Shelly and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
