Shelly Burkett's Fight for Survival

Shelly Burkett is my sister n law,  married to my younger brother Ricky. She is such a great example of just how strong a person can be when we need to. Shelly Burkett was diagnosed  with breast cancer, she had a double mastectomy in 2015 only for the cancer to then spread to her brain. Removal of 20 tumors to date and 3 years later she still fights. Shelly holds strong in her faith. She knows God has her. She is a daughter, a wife, a mother, a friend, a neighbor.  The cancer has now spread to Shelly's liver and lungs.  Days are longer and expenses are mounting.  Shelly has worked most of her life to help provide for her family, her current position held for the past 12 years while contributing to her church, her family, children and grandchildren, however fighting for her life while traveling to Shands Hospital in Gainesville for treatments  is proving to be too much this round and she needs our help.  The help of her community, her friends, her family to come together and try to relieve some of the financial burden weighing so heavy on her shoulders. Shelly is a fighter she is an example of just how stronge we can be. What God brings us to, he will bring us through. Medical bills are mounting and Shelly needs therapy which is not covered by her insurance and with the loss of her income they cannot afford the therapy.  Her family stands strong by her side doing all they can to help her daily working shifts so she is never alone.
