ShelterFriends Uganda: Build a Shelter for Strays

Welcome to our GoFundMe campaign dedicated to supporting the Animal Rescue and Welfare Initiative Uganda, also known as Shelter Friends Uganda, an extraordinary animal shelter that tirelessly rescues and cares for stray animals in Kigalama, Uganda. Steven and his team are on a mission to provide a safe haven for wounded and abandoned animals, offering them the care and love they desperately need. The shelter currently houses 15 dogs, as well as several cats in a secondary location.

Our goal is to raise €5000 (about $5450) to make a lasting impact on Shelter Friends Uganda and the animals in their care. With your support, we can achieve the following:

1. Building a Better Shelter to Welcome More Animals (approx. €4000): Shelter Friends Uganda faces various challenges, including very basic facilities. By reaching our funding goal, we can construct a new, improved shelter that provides a safe and comfortable environment for these vulnerable animals. This investment will enhance their well-being and ensure they receive the care they deserve.

It will also allow Steven and his team to house more pets: up to 40 to 50 dogs and as many cats. Goal is to locate all pets in the location you see in the video.

Unsterilized males and females will of course be separated until they can be sterilized.

2. Food: Proper nutrition is vital for the health and recovery of these animals. A portion of the funds raised will be dedicated to purchasing quality food, ensuring that every animal at Shelter Friends Uganda receives a balanced diet to aid in their rehabilitation.

3. Veterinary Care: The dedicated team at Shelter Friends Uganda works closely with a veterinarian to provide essential medical treatment and surgeries for injured animals. Your donation will contribute to covering veterinary expenses, including medications, vaccinations, sterilizations, and emergency care. By providing access to professional healthcare, we can significantly improve the lives of these animals.

By donating to this campaign, you are directly helping Shelter Friends Uganda save lives and provide a second chance to animals in desperate need. Together, we can make a difference and inspire compassion in others. One of the future projects is to educate local children on this topic as well.
