Siara's Start up costs for in-home daycare
Donation protected
Hello Friends and Family,
Siara here and I am reaching out to get a little support with startup costs for my in-home daycare. Unbeknownst to many of you, about 6-7 years ago, we had a horrible experience with Charlotte receiving care in an in-home daycare. Charlotte had to go through play therapy for about a year, we went through a formal trial with state liscensing and the daycare had its operating license revoked. Fast-forward to several weeks ago, I pulled all 3 children from a daycare we have been with for 6 years. I made a complaint with CCL last year, and a year later, the same things, if not worse, were still occurring in the day care. Charlotte, Maddox and Addie had their personals rights violated and I could not allow them to go back there another day. Charlotte, Maddox and Addie are definitely recovering from the trauma they experience while in care and I believe that by me keeping them home that last several weeks they know that they are safe now. While keeping the kids home, I was juggling being a full time mother to three children who are recovering from a traumatic experience and a full time Social Worker for the County and I will tell you, it has not been easy. Justin and I have been trying ro figure out how to tend to the needs of the children during this time while also being able to afford our daily costs of living. We have been trying to find replacement care for the kids but are having difficulties for various reasons; last week alone we thought we had placement at 3 different places and they all fell through. After much consideration, we decided it would be best for the kids if I resigned from my position and was able to stay home with them. So, that being said, I am going to open a small, in-home daycare where I can spend my time and energy teaching Addie and a few of her peers. This shift will also allow me to be more available to Charlotte and Maddox and support them in ways i cannot do while working full time. We believe that in making this shift in our lives, we will help reduce the long term effects of the trauma they experienced as well as, bring a tremendous amout of joy, laughter and happiness into ourives and the lives of other families. The kids all seem pretty stoked for this new path in our lives and so am I. I am so excited to get to spend so much more time with the kids while still being able to contribute to the family financially. We are asking for any support you can offer; a like, a share, suggestions, ideas, a financial contribution, or simply well wishes, is appreciated more than you'll ever know. I have also included my Amazon wishlist:
If you would like to check out some of the items I would love to have so that we can create memories and awesome adventures for Addie, Charlotte, Maddox and our new friends!
