Hi, I am Vince Sagoleo, the Shepparton Italian Social Club Inc. President. The Shepparton 2022 floods have been devastating for the Greater Shepparton community and the Shepparton Italian Social Club, which has also been decimated by one of the biggest flood events in the region's history. Our Club now needs your help!

The Shepparton Italian Social club was built in the 1960’s and is located in Marungi St Shepparton next to Princess Park.

The club was built by the Italian community as a place to gather and celebrate and has been run by passionate volunteers who have worked very hard over many years to create a welcoming environment for the Italian community to feel at home but also the wider greater shepparton community.

Our club has a large function room, kitchen, bar and bocce court facilities and has been an integral community club servicing the Greater Shepparton and surrounding region for well over 50 years.

The not-for-profit club is used for a variety of community purposes such as weddings, birthdays, family celebrations, salami nights, presentation evenings, dinner dances, entertainment and performances, monthly pasta nights and funerals and has been a great place to bring the community together and celebrate over food, music and dancing. Bocce courts have been used by school and community groups educating children about bocce. The Bocce courts have been used for tournament's with participants from australia wide.

Our club has been flooded to the height of the ceiling in our function room and we are trying to raise funds to help with clean up and repair. Due to the generational floods, our community has just experienced, we were only able to place a small amount of equipment on higher ground, and a lot of things will need to be replaced and repaired. This will include cool room compressor, fridges, freezers, coffee machine, bar equipment, kitchen equipment, office equipment, stock lossed, tv's, carpets, flooring and bocce club facilities and more. These are all things that we could not save and will have to be repaired and replaced.

The Shepparton Italian Social Club building is right next to the river, and unfortunately, we have been unable to have flood insurance to cover the contents we have lost as we are in a flood zone.

The 2022 Shepparton floods have been devastating. Any support that anyone can give would be greatly appreciated so we can repair the Shepparton Italian Social Club and continue to provide a community hub open to everyone in Greater Shepparton for generations to come.
