Shera's family expenses
Donation protected
I can’t believe we are losing yet another young mom to Cancer.
Three weeks ago, Shera, one of my coworkers, a young mom with 3 children, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphatic Cancer. She was joking with us on Friday at work, and we left work expecting to be all together again on the coming Monday. However, that was not to be. The next day Shera woke up and was paralyzed from the waist down. The first hospital said nothing was wrong with her and told her to leave. Shera knew something was very wrong, so she went to another hospital. Within eight hrs., she was in surgery to remove a cancerous tumour from her spine. It quickly became obvious that this was not a fight that Shera could win, as the Drs said she had 7 to 8 weeks left.
Cancer is never fair. However, there are times when it seems even crueller. Shera is loved by so many, with her generous spirit, quick smile, and infectious laugh. We are all praying for her, and her family. Her husband Milton, and her mom who is visiting from the Philippines, are taking care of their 3 children, ages 15, 6 and 4 years. Eventually, Shera’s mom must go home, and at that point, Milton will be alone, a single dad of 3 children.
Milton has a tough road ahead, dealing with the inevitable loss of his young wife, three grieving children, and being the sole breadwinner. I hope people will shower this family with generosity, supporting them with whatever they can. If we can help them with some of their expenses now, they can at least concentrate on Shera in her last days. We cannot change the outcome of Shera’s illness, but maybe we can soften the blow for those left behind.
It's so rare that we get an opportunity to be able to help a family in crisis directly. Please support this family with a donation to their Go Fund Me campaign. No matter the size of your gift, all will be helpful and appreciated. Thank you in advance for your generous support of Shera and her family.
