Sherburn White Rose FC Defibrillator Fundraiser

Further to the Charity match mentioned below, Sherburn White Roses' most injury prone player, Ryan Gale will also be running the Vale of York 10 mile in Rufforth on Tuesday 20th July 2021 at 19:15pm to help raise funds for the defibrillator.

From broken foot to a torn hamstring we are hoping that Ryan can manage to complete this event to support the club's defibrillator fundraising goal. Please get behind him and give him the support he needs. A huge good luck to Ryan!!

As we all know, on Saturday the 12th of June 2021 the world stood still in complete shock with the awful events when Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch and went into cardiac arrest during Denmark’s football match with Finland. Christian Eriksen, thankfully is alive today due to the quick thinking of players, officials, and medical staff.

The medical staff used a defibrillator on Christian which after one shock managed to get Christian’s heart pumping again. As we know Christian will be one of the fittest athletes in world sport, so this proves that nobody is safe from a cardiac arrest.

We do have a defibrillator at the club, however, we do not have an outside case that fits to the wall to house the defibrillator which is much needed for it to be accessible for everyone to use and also replacement pads are urgently needed for the machine.

We are fundraising to get the defibrillator fully functional for the club and also for the wider community and we would also like to raise funds to get a second defibrillator and pay for for a club first aid course.

Additionally, we have decided to have an U8 coaches and parents V U9 coaches and parents charity match at the football club on Sunday 18th July 2021 to help with the fundraising.

The match will be an 11 v 11 – 90-minute match where the teams will compete for the 'Eriksen Cup'.

If anyone would like to help us and donate to help us get this lifesaving piece of equipment fully functional again for use at our football club and the wider community, it would be greatly appreciated.
