Sheree's shave for solidarity - young mum's cancer battle
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Sheree - I have a dear friend who has faced so many challenges and is now facing her biggest yet - malignant breast cancer.
She is 45 years old with 2 young high needs kids and no family to support her (parents are gone, single child).
She received this unexpected diagnosis after a benign lump took her to the doctor and now has already had a double mastectomy. She faces months of hormone blockers, as it is an aggressive, hormone-responsive cancer, chemo starting this week and a full hysterectomy next year.
The time off from work is going to be tough for her and her 2 kids.
In solidarity with her in this battle, I'm going to shave my head, any sponsors or donations would be soooo appreciated by her (she doesn't know I'm doing this yet) though I know she will protest that there are others more in need - that's the type of beautiful soul that she is.
If you are not in a position to donate, at the very least go and get your breasts checked - early diagnosis can make a world of difference and it's free for over 40!! Breast Cancer Awareness is also one of my friend's goals.
