Sherri Mulholland

Sherri, an otherwise healthy 51 year-old mom, wife, daughter, sister and overall amazing human, was hospitalized on Dec 16th, 2022 for what appeared to be Influenza A. Things quickly escalated as she was transferred to the ICU. Within a couple of days Sherri had Compartment Syndrome in not one, but all four of her limbs (an occurrence that Mayo Clinic has never seen.) It has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ever since. 

On January 6th, 2023, despite their best efforts, Sherri had a bilateral, above-the-knee amputation after being unable to salvage her legs as the the tissue, muscle and skin failed to heal. She went to the hospital one day and woke up over 3 weeks later trying to understand how she lost her legs. To say that we are devastated is an understatement. 

I (Amanda, Sherri's niece) will be transparent by saying no one has any idea as to what the days, weeks and months ahead hold as she is still in the thick of it. However, what we anticipate will be needed in the future is costs for anything from transportation, and construction of their home to make it handicap accessible, to overall day-to-day expenses and every expense in between. All of this, in addition to significant income changes... as you can imagine, this will add up quickly, especially in today's world!

The family is SO beyond appreciative of those who have reached out asking how they can give or help. This seemed like the easiest option to relieve the immediate family from the additional stress of questions. 

There have been offers to hold a benefit at some point, but for now, our focus is on getting through this detrimental time of healing. 

Most importantly, please keep Sherri, Tim, Maggie and family at the forefront of your thoughts and prayers.
