Most of you know by now that Sherri was recently diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Although this has rocked the family, Sherri being as strong and as wonderful as she is, has remained positive and prepared to fight the good fight! Sherri is not one to ask for help so I am doing it for her.
A little about Sherri-
Sherri has always been strong, caring and generous among many other things! She has been “mom” to me since the first year she came into my life when I was 9 or 10. She started her "mothering" being the oldest of 7 siblings. At different times she helped them all in different ways. When she was a single young adult she took in her 14 year old sister Mary Ann to give her a shot at a better life. Later, after marrying my dad, Sherri took on two children at the ages of eight and ten, making her a mother of 3. I will never forget the wedding day where Sherri, in her beautiful dress, looks at sister and I and promises to always be there and she loves us so much. At the young age I didn’t know how important this was and would be to our family, but I remember and appreciate it all so much these days.
Sherri and my dad went on to have three beautiful children of their own and now they are all almost grown adults! Sherri has always been a voice of reason, understanding, and forgiveness. I never got to really appreciate the good things in my life until I was older and she was always there. I could go on forever with stories and how ridiculously bullshit cancer is. There's no time for whining or stories. Sherri is taking the faith road believing in possibilities and miracles. This cancer is aggressive and spread to the bones among other issues. This was extremely random, abrupt and shocking! Sherri has always lived an active and healthy life and was completely fine before the recent hospitalization that led to this diagnoses.
Due to the diagnosis Sherri has had to stop her business as a therapist so she can focus on all of her treatments and numerous medical appointments. She has applied for disability as well as receiving her military retirement early. Unfortunately, these take time and the expenses don't wait. We are wanting to do what Sherri would do for anyone and everyone and help raise her some money in the interim.
I never thought I would find myself writing anything like this but here we go. Sherri is the last person on this earth that deserves this, not that anyone deserves cancer, she is also the one that I know that can beat it.
Anything you can give helps!! If you are not able to give financially. Please share and continue to pray and see Sherri healthy and vibrant.
