Sherri is fighting Leukemia and MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome). Basically she has cancer in her bone marrow. Sherri was working out of town last May when she received a call from her physician notifying her that the blood tests were in, and instructing her to come home immediately and check in to the ER at the hospital. That was the 1st of June.
Since then, she has been in and out of the hospital many times, received over 70 blood transfusions and many chemo treatments to get her blood count closer to normal.
The good news is that Sherri is "holding her own" and her wonderful employer, supportive family, and great health care benefits have been a blessing sent by God! AND her brother Robert is 12/12 point match!
What's next? Bone Marrow Transplant that requires out of town living expense. Would you be willing to help?
Sherri needs a Bone Marrow transplant. The transplant is a 4-5 month process, performed in Southern California, where she cannot be further than 50 miles from the hospital, and never left alone. Living expense is not covered, and will cost the family an additional $12,000 after subsidies and current gifts.
Sherri's husband Kirk and sister Barbara will be taking shifts to be with her for the 5 month duration, and her mother will be taking care of Sherri's school aged son at their home. Other family members are stepping up to cover family needs and transportation, BUT there is more that is required. We need your help.
The family needs to cover the additional living expense of about $80 per day, for 150ish days.
So . .. that calculates to 150 - eighty dollar donors, OR
75 - one hundred sixty dollar donors. . . . .OR
whatever you can do to assist.
Would you be willing to sponsor a day for $80?
The family also needs your prayers, as God has healed before, and we are believing He will heal Sherri. Yet the daily costs continue to accumulate.
Again, for a family evening out, you could help Sherri receive her bone marrow transplant. Would you be willing to sponsor a day? . . . . or two?
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
